General FAQ

Question: What are cookies?
Answer: Cookies are a plain text piece of data that is sent from a website and is put on to your computer.
Cookies usually allow a user to leave and return to the site without having to login again and other various chores.
 
 
Question: Are cookies required for this site?
Answer: You can visit the gallery and view the images without having cookies enabled. Cookies must be enabled if you wish to use the search option to find images, or if you wish to use the "favorite" features. As these are nice features, it is recommended to enable cookies for this site.
 
 
Question: Where can I get this program for my site?
Answer: Coppermine is a free Multimedia Gallery, released under GNU GPL. It is full of features and has been ported to various platforms. Visit the Coppermine Home Page to find out more or download it.
 
 

Navigating the Site

Question: What's "album list"?
Answer: This will show you the entire category you are currently in, with a link to each album. If you are not in a category, it will show you the entire gallery with a link to each category. Thumbnails may be a link to the category.
 
 
Question: What's "last uploads"?
Answer: This feature shows the last uploads to the site.
 
 
Question: What's "most viewed"?
Answer: This feature shows the most viewed files by all users (whether logged in or not).
 
 
Question: What's "my favorites"?
Answer: This feature will let a user store a favorite file in the cookie that was sent to your computer.
 
 
Question: How can I clear the list of favorite images?
Answer: There are two ways. To clear all images at once, click on the "my favorites" link in the menu at the top of the page. This will bring you to your favorites gallery, from which you can click on the "Remove all favorites" link. Or to remove images one at a time, click on each individual image shown in the favorites gallery, and click on the "Remove from Favorites" link at the bottom of the page.
 
 
Question: How can I request images?
Answer: You can request an image when it is displayed full size by clicking on the "Request this image" link in the image information section at the bottom of the page. Alternatively, if you use the "favorites" feature, you can request all images shown in "my favorites" page by clicking on the "Request favorite images" link at the bottom of the favorites page.
